Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 at the Olympic event. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics coach when she was only six years old. First competing in the junior national championships of Romania in 1969, she was 13th. In 1970, she won. In 1972, during an event for communist-controlled countries' juniors before the Olympics, she took home 3 gold and silver medals. After that, in 1973 and 1974 she won the all-around junior champ. In 1975, she won 4 gold and 1 silver medal in her debut senior competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. The year was 1976 when she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female to ever dismount parallel bars using a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she started appearing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her entertainment career when she was in her teenage years. She began her professional career by performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment shows Ice Capades. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
